New Year, New Blog
I started posting recipes on this blog because I didn’t know where else to channel my love for food and cooking. As I kept posting, I realized that the recipes didn’t feel like they belonged on my professional online portfolio.
I’ve always wanted to be a food blogger, but my imposter syndrome kept saying that I didn’t have anything original to put out there in the food blogosphere. Imposter syndrome has prevented me from pursuing a lot of passion projects. But, with a year and a half of work experience under my belt, I’ve realized that food is what I truly love to write about. I not only want to share my family recipes with the world, but I want an outlet to share my thoughts on how food informs identity, and what it means to be “authentic.”
So, I made it my 2019 goal to nurture this little food blog dream of mine.
I called it Bun Bo Bae, a play on words on the Vietnamese noodle soup dish, Bun Bo Hue. I’ll be posting recipes, reviewing restaurants, updating you on my travels and providing all sorts of commentary on food, social justice and identity. You can subscribe for updates there in your inbox.
This blog will remain for professional updates. I’m still thrilled to be working with TEGNA, and we’ve got a lot of exciting things planned for 2019.
Thanks for joining me on this journey! Now go eat some noodles.
